The first model represents the traditional approach we try to create something that will involve men in church. We call it Men’s Ministry. But it doesn’t fit very well with the rest of the church, so we get out the krazy glue and attach it tenuously to the feminine church body. Then we tell men, “Look boys, we’ve created a men’s ministry for you. Go be masculine in there. But when you come to church on Sunday, check your manhood at the door.”
No wonder men are confused and hesitant in our churches.
This model also guarantees that men who visit your church will leave disappointed. You can have a well run, fruit producing men’s ministry, but 90% of your male visitors still come through the Sunday morning worship service. If these visiting men don’t sense that church is something for them, they will not be back.
Church for Men’s approach is different. We show men and women how to integrate a healthy, life-giving masculine spirit throughout their churches and their personal ministries. We’ll show you how to weave adventure, challenge, boldness, competition, hands-on communication, ferocity and fun into your walk with God and how to bring those things to church life. Once men see their values lived out in every area of Christian endeavor, their comfort level will increase. And you'll see more of them in church.
